Victorian "Flowers & Sickle" Pendant necklaces tested as 9ct (chain) andUnusual Victorian pendant formed as a sickle, its blade curving around a bunch of flowers. The petals are beautifully enamelled; the flowers are daisies and forget me nots. It's crafted in 18 carat gold and dates from the latter half of the nineteenth century, circa 1880. The symbolism is interesting, to say the least: The sickle is a farming implement that, from our modern perspective, is most readily associated with the hammer forming the communist
