Lots of space throughout the design which adds to that artistic and orgnaic creative flair that these weavers got to take and run with at the loom - this space offers movement in the rug and the curls and arabesque nature of the vines show the quality and fineness of the weave - many tribal rugs can't get the curved angles as well because the knots are a bit larger and it looks more clunky or choppy

but it's amazing to still see it there

These pieces were 100% solely woven for the European market until about the turn of the century and the years that followed
